The Storyteller
What has truly shaped my life is embracing my love for storytelling—not just in the telling, but in the listening. This passion was sparked by the movie “Big Fish,” a film that revealed to me the power and beauty of stories. In that world, stories aren’t just tales; they’re legacies, connections across generations, a way to make sense of the world. That realization changed me, pushing me to seek out stories—not to retell them, but to hold them close, knowing that each one I hear is a piece of someone’s soul.
I’ve come to see that everyone has a story worth telling, and more importantly, worth listening to. By offering my ear, I’ve become a vessel for these stories, holding them with the care and respect they deserve. This balance between listening and receiving has become a guiding light in my life. I’ve learned that by being present for others, I’m not just helping them feel seen and heard; I’m also enriching my own life with their experiences, adding layers to my understanding of the world and my place in it.
And so, my life’s purpose is clear: to be a listener, a counselor, a therapist, a doctor, and a shoulder for anyone who may cross my path. I want to be the person who holds their sacred stories, honors their legacies, and ensures their voices are never lost to time. In doing so, I hope to live a life filled with the richness of human experience, one story at a time, just as “Big Fish” taught me to do.
